Heather E. Carnaghan, Ed.D. is an educator, writer, illustrator, and mother of four. She researches, writes and illustrates in a sunny office on her small farm in Maryland.
Heather earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Maryland. She has taught grades K-8 and supported teachers as an Instructional Guide and Coach. She is passionate about innovation in education, project based learning, developing high quality leaders, and retaining teachers. Once named 'Teacher of the Year" just months after the stillbirth of her daughter, Heather's work not only includes themes of education, but also grief. Her unique experience with each of these has led her to share both research and heartfelt expression through her writing. Heather's organization, Charlotte's Purpose, supports those grieving after stillbirth with resources, writing, and thoughtful projects.
